I will not modify Lucina.
I will not modify Lucina.
I will not modify Lucina.
I will not modify Lucina.
I will not modify Lucina.
…dammit.
I was initially going to leave this one alone but once she became the most powerful amiibo in my collection I felt this bodge would be appropriate.
The plan: Class Change!
(In her own game she can go from her starting class “Lord” to “Great Lord” via use of a Master Seal)
No Master Seals here, but I do have blades and a blatant disregard for the condition of a project until it’s done.
So here we go, after the arms went…
…her head and cape followed with the application of putty:
While that set for a bit, I cut and swiveled parts of her left hand to make it more a more natural shield-holding position.
Then it was time to add more putty:
At this point I decided to remove the stand as it would make painting a pain later:
From here I decided to deal with the shield. I was not looking forward to this part, but luckily I found someone who did a great cosplay of Lucina, and included WIP shots of the sheild here.
With that as a reference, I was able to break it down into 6 layers
and cut it out of plasticard:
It will show up later unpainted, but I wanted to give a clearer look as my record keeping was crap during this bit.
With the shield assembled the sword arm started to look off to me so a tweak of pose was required:
The shoulders are from this lass:
They are a little big on her.
From there, I kept what I could from the original cape (I didn’t want to have to freehand the emblem on the back) and made a mockup for the tri-cape:
After that, I made the actual cape, and it was a bit of a pain. To get it to set, and look like it’s flowing instead of drooping, she had to do a balancing act:
Thankfully, she didn’t topple during the night.
Next up, was priming and adding the other details:
Here I am painting up the armour…
…and getting her noggin back on:
