This log is on a bodge I did for a friend of mine.
…surfing on his faithful pup, Rush, like in Mega Man III and beyond!
The plan was to build this:
This took a lot of consideration.
Most of what I do is, well… Bodgin’. By that, I mean I take bits of various unrelated things and smash them together really hard, until something works.
Sorta like Sid from Toy Story.
It’s pretty rare that I build something completely from scratch because I find it very difficult (big respect to those that can). After mulling it over a while, however, I figured that I had a way to go about it.
First things first, though: Getting Megaman off his base, and making a minor tweak to his arm:
This had the added benefit of making room around his face so I could cast a mold from it 😀
Once that was done, I added a dog snout to the new face:
(insert joke about pets looking like their owners here)
The next bit was building a body for Rush, using Plasticard:
I made some thrusters using greenstuff, and some spent .22 shells:
After that, I put the head and… part of the legs on?
Now that I had an idea how things would fit together, I bulked up the thrusters and made some paws:
Here’s how that turned out (got some ears too):
Next up was building the back thrusters, and the front bits of his legs. Greenstuff, more .22 casings, an HDMI end cover, and some bits from other random stuff served the purpose nicely:
Happy ass is happy.
I added a clear container to the base to make it look like it is hovering:
Finally, we can get some paint on:
And now we put the two together!
They are now ready to SMASH!
T’was a bodgin’
